Practicing Good Christian Business Principles – Part 1

Practicing Good Christian Business Principles – Part 1

Practicing good Christian business principles is vital to having a business that reverence God. As a Christian business owner, you should want God to be pleased with how you do business. Your business is a gift from God, and it is only right that you manage your business in a way that gives Him the glory and the honor.

Offer your business to God.

How to we offer our business to God. To start, we can offer up our day to Him by starting out in prayer. Matthew 21:22 says, “ And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive”. It is imperative to include God in every phase of our business, and asking Him to guide our decision making.

It is crucial to thank Him for the opportunity He has given you as a business owner.

1 Kings 9:3-4 And the LORD said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there forever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually. And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments.

Take a little time during the day to pray, you will see a difference in your business matters; what you may think is un-possible becomes possible.

Keys to your business success:

† Make God your CEO. Trust in God rather than yourself for guidance. Proverbs 3:4-6 So shalt thou find Favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

† Christian entrepreneurs must be faithful. 2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

† Stay in God’s Word. Read your Bible regularly. Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

† How do we treat others? How do we react when someone is less than nice and polite to us? Do we show love regardless? Mark 12:30-31 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

As we offer our business to God, believe that He has given us our business to not only be a financial provider, but to use the gifts and talents He has allotted us to serve the community in a loving way.

This is only a sample of the principles we should practice as a Christian business owner.
